Zoo Praha — Water Pipe Replacement in the Predator Pavilion
Challenge
When Zoo Praha calls you to replace the piping in the predator pavilion, you know it will not be a standard job. The Predator Pavilion needed new drinking and utility water lines. But working in a zoo means strict hygiene standards, coordination with daily operations and — let us be honest — a healthy respect for the residents behind the wall. Visitors must not be disrupted and the pavilion has to keep running.
Solution
We chose press-fit stainless steel — a material that is corrosion-resistant, hygienically safe for drinking water and virtually maintenance-free. Press-fit joints are also fast to install, which was essential: we worked in short time windows outside the zoo's main operating hours. We replaced all drinking and utility water piping throughout the entire pavilion.
Result
The Predator Pavilion now has new press-fit stainless steel pipework that will last for decades without any risk of corrosion. The work was completed with zero disruption to zoo operations — visitors noticed nothing. For us, this is a project we look back on fondly. It is not every day you work just metres from large predators and have to make sure every joint is absolutely right.
