Klicov Centre — Replacing 700 Metres of Pipes in Critical Condition
Challenge
The Klicov Educational Institution, which includes a secondary school, contacted us when their water and heating pipes were in critical condition. We're talking about a building where dozens of young people live and study — and where pipes were leaking where they shouldn't have been. In total, roughly 700 metres of piping needed immediate replacement. And this in a facility that can't simply close its doors and wait.
Solution
We decided to split the work into phases so the school and accommodation could continue to operate. We replaced approximately 400 metres of heating pipes and 300 metres of water supply pipes, including all fittings and accessories. For the heating, we used press-fit steel — a reliable material with fast installation, which allowed us to work in short time windows between classes. For the water supply, we chose PPR for its longevity and cost-effectiveness.
Result
The institution now has completely new pipes made from modern materials. 700 metres of piping that will last for decades — and no more middle-of-the-night phone calls about burst pipes. This project is our largest to date. It showed us that even under demanding conditions, where you have to coordinate work around a live-in institution, quality work can be delivered.
